Achieving successful wellness results is a very difficult challenge, and most people fail at some point in their process.

My 50-year career was in communications and behavioral research. I've applied the same analytical methods to look for behavioral change success. I was not just a researcher; I tried many of the same programs, read the same books,looked at what's going on around me to identify the common factors that lead to the success or failure of people achieving their wellness goals.

The biggest disconnect in personal change/success programs, especially wellness, is one core issue - are your thoughts, intentions, and actions connected to what you truly believe you can do?

Aha!  The missing steps in wellness programs have been the incomplete tools to manage where goals originate — in our minds and thoughts that guide our choices and actions.

Wellness programs recognize that most obstacles, aside from physical limitations, are emotional and mindset barriers. You have to convince your mind before your mind can energize your body to do the work and follow the regimen. 



You need to believe you can achieve your goal and not let negative thoughts dominate your wellness choices and actions. We all have fears, doubts, uncertainty, and setbacks. Wellness goals seem exceptionally sensitive to our negative thoughts because they are for ourselves and within our heads. Maintaining an exercise regimen or losing weight is a purely personal goal, so 100% of the pressure is self-induced – nobody else is responsible for our goal



Modern science to the rescue! Several psychology-based practices have been used successfully with wellness issues. Cognitive therapy helps people change their incorrect thoughts and beliefs that affect choices and behavior. Neural plasticity is the discovery that people can literally "rewire their brain," to change the way they think and process information. Positivive Psychology is now an academic subject. Wellness 68 uses the same principles to help change, or rewire, the way you think about your goals.



Thoughts come first. Every wellness practice acknowledges that we have to overcome discouragement about progress.
